Why I shall not walk this walk, but Once!

I expect to walk this walk,
but once,
for it will be now,
not again.

If therefore, if there can be,
any empathy, any struggle,
an act of joy
Or a ride full of pain,
a moment of kindness,
or a glimpse of success,

It shall be now or none,
for I expect to walk this walk,
but once.

For the moment
can be lived once,
the experience can be
shared once,
the view to be
seen once,

If it be,
let me do it now,
for it may not happen again,
I will not travel this way,
for I shall not walk this walk,
but once.

for I alone am great
to turn the voice of wind,
to star in thy memories,
to hum through the song
sweetened by thou,
made of my loving.
For I shall not walk this walk,
but once!!
