ENDURANCE

Oh dear mother
I see you smile with glee
I am in your arms soft and gentle
I am here and I feel silly.
But is that what I see, really?

I am protected and loved
Under your eyes
I am educated and blessed
But I am afraid, I cry.

I cannot be left alone
When I am grown
I cannot play
For, there are eyes that betray.

Why are they true in all lies
Why cant they feel ashamed
In their own eyes.
All will be forgotten one day
I hope not to breath, without a say.

I understand your need
Mother, father, uncle or brother
Dont disregard me or let me bleed.
With dreams to belong somewhere
I wait to be free.
But I am tied, burnt and killed
By monsters, who are then set free.
