The Band 4: The Air We Breathe by Marguerite Nardone Gruen
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The Band 4, by Marguerite Nardone Gruen, is a story of Marguerite Angeli and Chase Martin. Marguerite is an independent woman from the United States of America touring the United Kingdom’ where she happens to bump into Chase, a teenage sensation and member of a rock band called “the Band 4”. The two titular characters discover that they are bound by an invisible thread and fall for each other. Thereafter is the saga of their togetherness, struggle and success.
As the name suggests the band is comprised of four members, namely Blake, Drew, Chase, and Quinn, who are more or less like a family.
The book falls into the ‘Romance’ genre and is neatly structured. It is prima facie divided into 75 chapters and an epilogue, where every chapter is detailed and establishes the characters well enough. Unlike the other books of this genre, the author doesn’t deviate from the main characters and the storyline. The author has taken the cue(s) from real-life celebrities and one can feel her reflecting on her personal experiences.
The book is a good read for people who have a knack for romantic fictions. Although, I feel that the author can do away with the redundancies. My suggestion- look forward to the quote “you are the very air I breathe”.
